Have you ever had that feeling that all you need for your desk is right there and “organized” but doesn’t feel like it? I get you, feel like tht every day… so I decided to clear my desk area by using a pegboard and I love the results.

By doing this, 85% of the clutter was gone, but some things remained taking desk space, like pencils and pens and highlighters, and cute little things… So, I came up with couple of things to help me organize even more and they’re as customizable as I want, so I can keep switching and changing all the time and dont get tired of them.

For the first one we’ll need a can of soup, chalky paint, gold spray paint, painters tape and a brush.

Start by oainting the can with chalky paint, I did 2 layers of painting to fully covered it. When the can is dry, use the painters tape to create some patterns and figures, this is the design your pencil holder will have.

And I’m going to spray paint the exposed area with gold. Once is dry, carefully remove the tape and touch up with a small brush and the chalky paint you used all the parts that don’t look so good or clean.

Once it’s dry and seems ready, I need to drill a hole a bit bigger than the hook I’m using. Please be careful and take your time on this part. Don’t hold the can in the air and drill, you need better support than that, what I found worked best for me, was to hold it against the table. You can also try to drill from the inside, but it might not be as easy.

After drilling, do the final Touch ups and let dry.

And we’re done, Now I’m just gonna hang it on the pegboard and organize my stuff. And voila! First project ready!

The second DIY is a little tray to organize different items. Somehow everything seems tidy and nice when you do this.

You’ll need a picture frame, a piece of vinyl or any patterned paper you like (I’m only using this vynil because was left from another project) and some scissors.

Remove the back of your frame and the glass, clean all those fingerprints and dust stuck in the glass. Then, I’m going to cover the cardboard with the vinyl or paper and cut the borders to make it the same size

Put it back in the frame… And there you go, the cutest little tray!
