DIY time… Unicorn lovers around? This is cute! haha, ok ok so, I already said all you need to know, today’s project: DIY Unicorn piñata!
Last year I saw at Target a tiny donkey Piñata, as you know, we don’t have Target in Canada anymore, so clearly I was in the states, and clearly I wasn’t going to bring a piñata as my carry on haha, so the size was sooooo perfect, also everything tiny is 500% times cuter, right? And Mark’s birthday was only 2 months away (I like to plan little things in advance, so what? sue me) and he doesn’t like to do any big deal about his Birthday, so extra points to the Tiny Piñata.
Long story short we loved it so much, it made it until Christmas as part of our living room decor… But it was enough of it, also, we re-vamped the living so it didn’t really have a place anymore to hang. I remember I saw once that somebody made a Unicorn out of a Donkey, no idea when or where I saw it, but it remained in my mind… So, DIY time was here!
All you need is tissue paper, scissors and glue. First Get the Donkey naked! just take off as much of the original wrapping as you can, then proceed to cut little tassels on long strips of paper, and them just wrap. The tail is a tassel made with different colours, the maine is like an open tassel layering the different colours, for the Horn I just made it in cardboard and wrap it with gold vinyl.. Take your time and enjoy, every step you take makes it cuter and cuter. Once you’re done, find an excuse to celebrate 🙂
