Pretty in Pink princess themed baby shower… I know is not the most OMG you’re so creative concept, but guess what, it’s a “classic”, people LOVE-IT and I will even say it’s super cute haha. So here is my very Pink sweet table and my explanation and advise to accomplish one.
The friends of the mom to be who were planning this party wanted a variety in flavours. So, the cake pops were red velvet; the cake was vanilla filled with strawberry and american buttercream, covered in Swiss meringue buttercream and topped with a sugar crown; the cupcakes even though look similar to the cake were filled with lime; and finally the sugar cookies, those were vanilla flavour.
As you know (probably), I work full time so my baking process has to be divided into parts in order to have a nice looking, delicious tasting final product and keep myself sane:
– Cake pops normally take between 2 and 3 days, one day I bake the cake, second day I roll the cake balls and leave them in the fridge overnight and the third day I decorate them. Once they’re decorated they can stay in the fridge without changing flavour or consistency, but be careful, the stick is made of paper so it will absorb moist from the cake and change its colour, of course that takes more than a couple of days. This is my way of batching, but of course everything can be done in just one day.
– the cake will take 2 days. Cake gets baked, cools down, goes to the fridge wrapped in plastic and that way next day is nice and firm to level and decorate.
– cupcakes get done the day before I deliver (unless is my own party, so would make them the day of). The buttercream most of the time gets made in advance or while they’re baking if didn’t have time before. The reason to make them last is because cupcakes get dry Fast and they won’t taste as awesome. I prefer mini-cupcakes, but not everyone agrees haha.
– the cookies are made a few days in advance, because they can last for a while without changing flavour or texture, but Mainly because sometimes it takes forever to decorate them, and let them dry.
– the fillings (strawberry and lime) and the crown were made as the cake and cookies were baking.
And that’s my journey into putting together a small Sweet table. Bake it ’till you make it 😉
