Are you planing, organizing, decorating and taking care of all details for a Baptism (or a first communion)? I have three words for you… Keep It Simple. Keep it classy and on theme but be subtle, if you’re not a pro or just won’t get tons of perfect pastries catered, make it nice by choosing an easy theme. What I did here for a client who gave me full creative freedom and just told me they wanted the things to be light blue and white, was to chose watercolour and marble style on all the sweets, from the cake to the party favors.

Both styles are trendy and cute and very forgiving, a watercolour cake is 10 times easier and faster to make than some fondant baby Jesus or carving an angel out of who knows what. The cake was a little big given the number of guests, but same style can be made in ANY size. Besides the cake, we had mini cupcakes, filled with caramel and decorated with the Swiss meringue buttercream from the cake, we also had funfetti flavoured cake pops with a mix of white and blue chocolate to make them look marbly. And finally, some party favours, marble  sugar cookies.

As you can see, everything has the main colours and is just a variation of style, either watercolour or marble. Look nice and clean without going crazy and overdoing it.
